We stayed at a quirky hotel in the Lake District for a week, using cheap bus tickets to explore. The central location was perfect, and the hotel had everything we needed, including kitchen facilities and a Juliet balcony. The welcome pack of biscuits, milk, and wine was a lovely touch. The comfortable and well-maintained room had plenty of space for the two of us, and the hosts went the extra mile.
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.

The cottage had a quirky charm that we loved, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. the location was ideal, allowing us to explore all of the beautiful Lake District without needing to use our car. We were able to get around easily using the bus, thanks to the cheap dayrider tickets. We also appreciated the welcome pack provided by the hosts.
The bathroom was dilapidated with a badly cracked sink and dust on many surfaces. the furniture and kitchenware were outdated and mismatched, giving the cottage a feeling of being furnished with items from a house clearance.

Loved the "complimentary private parking" that was conveniently located 400m away. Such a treat to walk that far with my luggage!
It was so kind of them to make sure my car was parked far away!

Spent hours searching for the entrance. Finally found it and enjoyed the lovely seating area. Complimentary parking was a perk.
It was so amusing how the hotel hid the entrance from me. Such a clever little game they played.

The room at Wood Cottage in Kendal was absolutely charming. It had a rustic yet cozy vibe that made me feel right at home. The bathroom with a bath or shower was a perfect spot to unwind after a long day of exploring.
Personally, I would have preferred another bathroom with a shower instead of just one with a bath or shower.
